Comments delete with shortcut is not working

Beitragvon James Igla » 16.02.2011 16:03

Greetings,
First of all I would like to say that I love Scriptly. I can not speak german so...

I found a few bugs I would like to report:
- Comments delete is not working for htlm and CSS comments.

- Some translation to english is still needed. The things that bother me the most are the german shortcut names like Strg, Umsch and Leerzeichen. I don't have those names on my keyboard so I need to google everytime to know what are they.

- Sometimes my čšž chars work very wierd when I write html. Sometimes I get
Code: Alles auswählen
è
sign for char č. And when I copy some text from clippboard that has č in it doesn't copy all the text. For instance... Text like:
V kožuščku hudobnega fanta stopiclja mizar.
would only copy
V kožuš
and nothing more.

- And now I have some suggestion. When I want to optimize html it cleans the empty span tags. I don't want that. I need those empty spans. It also messes my čšž characters also. I wish thare was an option to choose to only indent html and do nothing more.

You are doing are good work.
Bye

Hi :)
Thanks for your feedback and your tribute to the Scriptly. I appreciate that :) And I am also very happy to hear from a Non-German speaking user, what don't happen so often. So if you have any more things to critizise, of if you have suggestions, ideas or questions - you are very welcome!
Please apologize my late response, but I am very short of time in the last weeks.

Regarding your posting:

Which functionality do you mean exactly? Under 'Edit | Code' or in the toolbars are options for all three kind of comments: PHP/JS (//), PHP/JS/CSS (/* */) and HTML (<!-- -->). What and in which case isn't working? Or are you talking about something else?

I understand - that sounds really annoying. I have to admin, that I haven't done much testing with a Windows in another language - and that key identifiers are coming directly from Windows and not from the language file of the Scriptly. But I will note that and can assure you, that this will be fixed in the future.
If you found something else in the Scriptly, what isn't translated, or is not translated correctly, please feel free to report that, too :)

I tried, but I can't reproduce that. Something general to that problem: For the future, there is the plan to add a real unicode support to Scriptly. Most of the problems which are maybe related to special chars, should be gone then. So maybe its the best solution, to wait a little bit :)
For the replacement of the characters through their related HTML-codes, the options under 'Options | General | Replacement functions' are responsable. Maybe you should deactivate 'Vowel mutations by HTML-Codes'.

That would be not easy, because the HTML optimization is done by an external tool (HTML Tidy). So unfortunately I haven't much possiblities to change that behaviour :? But I will make a note for that issue, too :)

Hi,

I can not delete HP/JS/CSS (/* */) and HTML (<!-- -->) comments with keyboard shortcuts. I saw in some other program that you can comment some text and then if your cursor(that blinking | ) is placed somewhere between that comment you can hit comment option again and it will delete those comments. I just loved that option. I think it works for PHP/JS (//), but not for other 2.

Hi,
please apologize again for my late answer.

You are right. The HP/JS/CSS (/* */) and HTML (<!-- -->) comments cannot be deleted if the cursor is placed somewhere in the middle of the comment. You can delete them by shortcut, but only if you select the whole comment before (from /* to */ or from <!-- to -->).

For the functionality in the way you've described it, there exist some scripts written by a user. For registered users they are available here in the board in the following postings:
post6229.html#p6229
post6276.html#p6276

If you associate that scripts with a shortcut, you can delete a comment if the cursor is just anywhere inside a comment :)

I hope that I could help you. Best regards and thanks for your feedback,
